Cookie Policy
What this site stores on your device — which is very close to nothing — what the one exception does, and how to change your mind about it.
1The short version
- This site sets no cookies of its own. There is no analytics, no advertising tag, no session cookie, and no consent banner in your way.
- One thing here would set third-party cookies: the Vimeo showreel. It loads only when you press play, and only if you have allowed embedded video.
- Your choice is kept in this browser’s local storage — not in a cookie — and never reaches us.
- Change it whenever you like in cookie settings, linked at the foot of this page and from every page on the site.
2What cookies and local storage are
A cookie is a small file a site asks your browser to keep and to send back on the next request. Local storage is a similar store that the browser keeps but never sends anywhere by itself. Both are per-browser and per-device, which is why a choice you make on your phone does not follow you to your laptop.
This policy covers both, and anything with the same effect — pixels, tags, device fingerprinting. Of that last group we use none.
3The register
Everything this site can store, by category. The two marked not in use are listed so that this page is already accurate if we ever switch them on — nothing on the site reads them today, and the switches for them are inert rather than off.

Embedded videoIn use
Lets the Vimeo player load when you press play on the showreel. Off unless you switch it on; while it is off, pressing play asks you first.

4The Vimeo player
The showreel on the homepage and on the work page is a Vimeo embed. It is not loaded with the page: the poster frame is our own image, and the player itself is fetched only when you press play.
If you have not allowed embedded video, pressing play shows a short notice instead, with a button that loads the player and records the permission. If you have allowed it, the player loads straight away.
Once it loads, Vimeo receives your IP address, the page you are on and your browser details, and may set its own cookies — for playback preferences, for bot protection, and, depending on Vimeo’s own settings, to count the play. We do not control those cookies and we cannot read them; Vimeo’s privacy policy governs them.
To remove cookies Vimeo has already set, clear cookies for player.vimeo.com in your browser. Switching the permission off here stops the player loading again — it does not delete what is already on your device.
5Where your choice is kept
Under the key impact.cookie-consent in this browser’s local storage, as a small JSON record: the version of this policy it answers, when you saved it, and one true/false per category.
It is in local storage rather than in a cookie on purpose — keeping a consent record in a cookie means that refusing cookies sets one. It never leaves your device. This site is published as static files, so there is no server here to send it to, and nothing we run could read it if there were.
“Forget my choice” on the settings page deletes the record outright. The next visit then starts from no answer, rather than from a recorded no.
6Managing this in your browser
Your browser can block or delete cookies for any site, including third parties embedded in one. It is a blunter instrument than the settings page — block everything and you break sites that genuinely need a cookie to work — but it is the one that applies everywhere, not just here.
- Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Third-party cookies
- Safari: Settings → Privacy, and Develop → Empty caches for a single site
- Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
- Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions
Blocking local storage will also stop us remembering your cookie choice, so you will be asked again each visit. That is the trade, and it is a reasonable one to make.
7Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
There is nothing here for those signals to switch off — we run no tracking. We do not read them, and we do not read their absence as consent to anything either.
8Changes
If we add anything that stores data on your device it goes into the register above before it ships and, where it needs consent, behind a category you have to switch on yourself. Adding a category we actually read clears stored choices, so you are asked again rather than opted in.
